The SolidWorks application is used to make models for architects, engineers and other designers. In addition to being a modeling program, SolidWorks also acts as a repository for information about the model, so it imports and stores other file formats, such as PDF, for quick viewing inside of the program.
This is how to increase the image quality in SolidWorks: Just go to Tools > Options > Document properties > Image quality. Drag the slider to the right to increase the level of detail of your 3D model.

This just opens all drawing files in solidworks and saves as a *.pdf file. I just wanted to to get a second set of eyes on this before I let it go on the actual drawings database (i.e. all our files) and hopefully make sure it won’t encounter any errors.

I have a student copy of solidworks 2016, it worked fantastically for about a month then all of sudden it was slow. It opens up quickly (3-5 seconds). If there is no assembly, part, or drawing up it responds normally. When I try to make a small part it has about 5 or 6 seconds lag between actions. Now open a drawing which you want to save as PDF. Now go to Tools > Macro > Run and browse to this file. The macro would run and save the active drawing as PDF in the same folder in which drawing has been saved already.
I just tested searching…..takes about 7 seconds to search by drawing number to get results regardless of the folder the file is in. There are around 100 folders containing 120,000 PDF files. Caching and opening a PDF under 100kb is maybe 2 seconds so I don’t think the number of files in a folder is affecting it. Transitions is one area I remember in the past being affected. 30/11/2011 · I work with Solidworks too, they simply cannot tell you your assemblies have too much parts, that’s the way Solidworks is designed to work. If you put all the parts and assemblies into one assembly it would still load slow because instead of several small files you would have 1 large ass file. (Albeit the 1 large ass file will load faster, but not enough to make a huge difference.

The problem starts when I start Solidworks drawing (a drawing file), even if it is a blank sheet. It starts running really slow and I can’t do anything with it really. It even crashes sometimes. I don’t know which service pack I’m using right now, and I also don’t know how to update it. I’ve updated my video card drivers, but that didn’t fix it.
